Ridhima Sachdeva has always challenged herself to do the extraordinary. As a student, she consistently received top grades at school and at university, attaining a Masters Degree with Distinction from the University of Arts London.
However, as a creative person at heart, and with a life-long fascination for the beauty of embroidery, Ridhima also undertook an intensive course at the Royal College of Needlework, London, to hone her own embroidery skills.
Armed with these and other qualifications, and with extensive work experience across the UK and India, Ridhima arrived in Melbourne in 2018 confident that she would be a strong candidate for professional employment.
It didn’t take long for the bubble to burst.
Undaunted and unafraid of a challenge, Ridhima soon abandoned the idea of working for someone else and began developing her own business and brand – Hemera Labs.
Founded in 2018, Hemera Labs is a retail destination for tasteful, luxurious handcrafted and embroidered products offering homewares and fashion accessories. At Hemera Labs, you’ll find an array of digitally illustrated scarves, embroidered headbands, beaded coasters and everything embroidery.
Ridhima designs and curates the collection in Melbourne and, to realise Hemera Labs’ production needs, she collaborates with a select group of artisan families in Asia, providing employment and an income, as well as maintaining traditional handcraft techniques.
