Camila Serrano, the Director of Milla Dance Studio, is originally from Colombia, a psychologist who has extensive experience in sharing her culture through dance and storytelling. Milla Dance Studio is based in Castlemaine-Victoria where they offer regular weekly dance classes such as West African dance with live drumming, Afro-Colombian dance with costumes, Cuban Salsa, Rueda de Casino, Salsa Solo (choreograph Salsa Class without Partners), AfroFit (African dance fitness with Afropop music) and AfroFun (60+ years).
They’ve recently extended their classes to Kyneton and Bendigo, offering workshops to different community groups, including high schools, universities, team building for soccer teams, opening act for cultural events, weddings, hen’s parties, etc.
One of Milla Dance’s biggest achievements has been organising a cultural event at Castlemaine Theatre Royal in 2019, where they brought an 8 pieces Salsa Band from Melbourne, Colombian Food and 3 different performances, all organised with the love and passion to share their beautiful Colombian culture.
